Photographs first, always
The first thing we do on arrival is photograph the damage, in place, before a single tool comes out. Splintered jamb, bent striker, the marks a screwdriver left on the frame, the state of the lock itself. Insurers ask for this and the moment we start repairing, the evidence is gone.
